States Visited this year: Washington state (Oct), Illinois (6x), Georgia, South Carolina, Kansas (late Oct), lots of Colorado.
Work: Finished up some consulting work for Denver Public Schools that I started in fall of 2016. I think I'm done working and just going to be retired now.
Activism: 2017 Women's March in January with friends and my sign. Loved it!
National Parks and Monuments: On our Colorado driving vacation in September - Mesa Verde Nat'l Park and Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park, Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, Olympic Nat'l Park in Washington. No National monuments?
Organized Rides: Southern Charm with Adventure Cycling from Savannah, Georgia to Charleston, South Carolina. Harrowing trip with way too much traffic and no shoulders on roads. And rain, rain, rain. I was so excited to see the South! Will have to try again.
First Time Rides - RAGBRAI - oldest organized ride, across Iowa in July. With Scott's friends, the Cutters. It is as advertised. Thousands of people and so much partying. We got lucky with weather and had fun in the small towns. One and done.
Mountain biking a lot on our driving vacation around Colorado was so great!
Mountain bike ride up Boreas Pass outside Breckenridge.
Organized Runs: Justice Run with Scott and Barb B., 10K starting at Hudson Gardens. Second year I missed the Bolder Boulder and that makes me sad.
Traditions: New West Fest music in Ft. Collins for the 2nd year in a row!
Phyllis's Christmas breakfast for Longs Peak ladies & guys - for at least 10 years.
Sunday trail runs with Dirty Girlz
Friday morning breakfast with the GWITS
Quilt Days on Mondays in Berthoud with In-Stitches
Skiing with Scott and sometimes Charlene
Summer outdoor music at parks
Happy hours with Go Go's - our lips are sealed.
Another fabulous Christmas lights run - this time with Jabe group.
Keeping up with the Spice Girlz minus Roberta (boo) - friends since 1980
Hike to the Boulder Star at Christmas time.
Longmont Christmas parade & lights at Roosevelt Park.
Christmas in Illinois with family.
New experiences: Run at Devil's Backbone outside of Loveland. Beautiful.
Got my first ever in my life speeding ticket! In Lyons...boo hoo.
Scott's first concert at Red Rocks! We saw Umphrees McGee with opener Stick People. Beautiful weather, great concert.
Found a memory care place and brought my mom there on July 8th. A very sad time. Dad will stay at their home until he is ready to move, and visit Mom daily.
Rode the LightRail! I took it to and from the airport from Scott's a few times and to the Women's March. So great. Wish it was north.
Saw a concert at Hudson Gardens - Kool & the Gang. Lawn chairs & summer heat.
I got to stand on the podium (3rd place) in an athletic event! Woo hoo.
Colorado Trail with Ann & Mattie the dog: Segment 1 from Roxborough State Park to S. Platte River trailhead (one day in June), Segment 2 from S. Platte River Trailhead to Little Scraggy Trailhead (one day run in November), Segment 6 from Kenosha Pass off Hwy 285 to Gold Hill Trailhead just outside of Breckenridge (2 days backpacking, one overnight).
Triathalons: One! swim only at Loveland Tri - I was sick but I wanted to do an open water swim. It sucked! I'm not a big fan and it could be one and done (but Scott wants to do more of them so maybe).
Backpacking: backpack with Ann on CO trail - once, really? Not enough.
Bikepack Trip: First ever! Rode from my house to Camp Dick (overnight) to Estes Park (overnight) and then home (on road bikes). I missed Day 1 bc I was sick, but did days 2 & 3 with Scott. We loved it!
Ski Places: Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, A-Basin.
Birthday celebration: Sunday Run of my choice with DGz (Heil) and 2 days of skiing with Scott and an AirBNB at Breckenridge. Level 6.1 is going to be so sweet.
Trips outside the US: Italy in May - a hiking trip with "Larry" friends (including Kirin and Matt of course) in Sardinia and the Dolomites, and ending in Venice.
It was a very good year. Moving on to good health and great adventures in 2018.
