Scott's retirement & our Florida driving vacation!

We left on November 14th for our trip - which all started when we booked a one-week bike tour in the Florida Keys!  We drove through about 13 states and all around Florida and rode our bikes whenever we could- 6000 miles by car and hundreds on the bikes!  We stopped in Illinois to see both our families and returned to Colorado on Dec. 30th.

We camped, stayed in Airbnbs and hotels, and did our first gig with trustedhousesitters.com.
We visited friends and family along the way, saw hurricane damage and dealt with a few very warm days and mostly very cold days!  We loved it and had a blast on our Big Road Trip!  I can't name all the places we visited or experiences we had in one blog post.

From Colorado - first stop, Lubbock TX for overnight only.  Then on to Kyle, TX to visit my cousin Jimmy and his wife Cheryl and do some riding and play some euchre.

Next stop - 2 short days in New Orleans where we did miles of walking, heard music, and met up with our friends Sallie and John who live in Baton Rouge.

The Live Oak trees in the south are covered in Spanish Moss and very beautiful.  We saw them in so many states. This Avenue of the Oaks was on Jekyll Island.

I was always on the lookout for alligators.  We saw them but only in places where they were expected, which was fine with me.

My birthday in Key West!  We did a kayak trip in the Mangroves, enjoyed the sights and a beach, then ended with great live music, some snacks and a pina colada.
Living the life in Ft. Lauderdale in the off-season.  Another great place to ride our bikes.

The fine white sand on Public Beach at Siesta Key.  Rode bikes there and enjoyed sunsets and a couple warm days.
At The Villages in Florida with Karen and Gary.  Lots of fun and great for biking!

We spent 3 days with the best tour guide in Florida - my friend Cindy.  We did Kennedy Space Center, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom at Disney.
After our run in Savannah, GA where we spent 4 days, did our first house-sit, and visited with Scott's cousin Janelle & husband.  Beautiful city and we saw a lot of it.
Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island.  The weather didn't really cooperate on much of the trip but we were prepared.
