September Raft Trip and Reehcation

September was a happy month with a raft trip on the Colorado River from Moab area to Lake Powell, and with Scott's family coming here for their annual family vacation which they call Reehcation (Raycation).
We stayed at cabins in Estes Park for 3 nights, cooked family meals, saw so many elk, and enjoyed beautiful September in Estes Park.
Brendan, Rhiannon, and Lawrence got to know each other.

Scott's sister, mom, and brother who live in Rock Island, Illinois.

great views at Red Rocks

Loveland Heights Cabins on the river just outside of Estes Park.  Rustic but clean and perfect for our group.

Huges herds of elk were about every day.  This group was hanging out near their brewery.

Our Raft Trip with OARS on the Colorado River.  We started in Moab and had 5 days of rafting (no rapids really since it was September), and a flight in a small plane back to Moab.  With good friends and new friends.  We're going to do another raft trip with the same company next year!

The torrential downpour caused waterfalls to cascade down the cliff faces.  It was so cold but so magical!

Scott and I added some days including a hike up to Angel Arch in Arches National Park

Small plane flight

Most days were warm and amazing!
