Family joys and sorrows

Just for fun.... I found this poster of me, my sister, and our Aunt and Uncle when we visited them in California around 1970.  Aunt Micki was the fun one and she had us dress up like hippies, make background art, and we took the photo then had it made into a poster.  My only week as a California girl was good!

My oldest granddaughter, Danyelle (middle), is going to be a bride this August in California.  She had a bridal shower in Longmont.  With her sisters, Teanna and Jaymie.

This year we said goodbye to Eric's sister Brenda and her husband Tom.  I always admired their relationship and they were positive, thoughtful, and wonderful people.  They will be missed.

Dad's 90th birthday with help opening presents.
I've made many visits to Illinois in the last few years to see Mom and Dad and give Vicki a break from caregiving.  My Mom and Dad shared many tender moments as Mom's dementia progressed.  When our mom fell in March and broke her other hip, Vicki and I knew she would not recover from surgery but Dad couldn't accept it for a time.  What a difficult 4 weeks she had before she finally passed on after being surrounded by family in her room.  Love you Little Mama.  You will always be in our hearts.
My niece Jamie got a tattoo for Alzheimers.  Vicki and I want to get a feather because our Mom collected feathers as she found them on her walks.

Sweet and sad times.

We had a very nice visit with my mom's cousin and life-long companion, JoAnn in early March.  The folks had lots of laughs.
