West coast of the South Island, NZ

The weather is fickle - sometimes sunny and warm but sometimes cool and rainy.   No matter, the outdoors beckons.  I am getting regular core exercise and walking/hiking many hours a day.  It's difficult to drive past so many lookouts and trails without stopping but we just can't do them all.

I highly recommend travel to New Zealand!  It has been easy in every way and incredibly beautiful.  I'll let the photos tell the story of the last few days.  Yesterday we were in Lake Wanaka, today was the small towns of Fox Glacier and Franz Joseph Glacier (with hikes to the glaciers), tomorrow we drive the coast to Hokitika, Greymouth, and Punakaiki.  Every place is memorable.

A metal cutout man attached to the sign at Fox Glacier telling us to go no further.

The same sign guy at Franz Joseph Glacier....just having fun writing something
Views of the highest peaks...Mt Cook and Mt Tasman

A HUGE spider hanging out by the trail

Eels on the Moeraki River...at least 30"long!
