Cycling on the mainland-Cetina Canyon

View of Celina Canyon with better color...the water is blue-green and perfectly clear.
Cetina canyon at the town of Omis.  One of the most amazing views of the bike trip.

Viewpoint from near the top.  You can see part of the curved, steep road we came down.

We docked at the port city of Omiš to ride up the canyon, making a long rolling loop above in the "hinterland", and then a long and winding downhill back to the sea.  We started with another never ending climb but once in the high country, it was fairly flat with wide open views.....quite different from our island rides.

Croatia grows many things on those terraced hills away from the coast. W passed huge gardens, olive trees, fig trees (fresh figs are good to eat!), pomegranate trees, grapevines galor, many locals and no tourists.  Again we got lucky with sunny weather. After we walked to a nearby beach but the wind came up and it was chilly so I didn't swim.

After dinner the Brazilian riders brought out the music and the disco ball for a dance party. They were very accepting of those of us who joined the party and danced with them. I wonder how many of them will ride today....
BTW, when I type the blog, my phone auto corrects. So if something doesn't sound right, it's up to you to figure out what I meant to say :-)
