Sydney area highlights

Sightseeing in Sydney for more than a week?  No reason to panic.
Sydney public transportation is so easy and cheap and I regularly rode buses, trains,  and ferries to get around and out of town.

We had more than 2 days and nights of pouring rain and two days of on and off rain.  Luckily we both brought rain coats, panrs, and hat and I bought an umbrella.   Everyone,  even the men, carries an umbrella in this weather.  They are also big on those rubber boots (gumbootss), which we saw often in New Zealand too.

I am amazed at how quickly 6 days flew by and all were full and enjoyable and I have more to see and do here yet.

Yesterday: Walk, train, ferry, walk coast, bus, walk beach, bus, ferry at sunset, walk city, train, walk home. Enjoy sun, surf, rock cliffs, people, spectacular sunset!

Yesterday, Easter, we took the train to Circular Queue (Key) where you see the opera House and harbor bridge.   That is a 5 minute walk to the station from our home then 15 minutes on the train.

Next we took a ferry to Watsons Bay (25 minutes), beach suburb with beautiful ocean-side walking path for miles.  We ate lunch at the harbor then took a bus back to Bondi Beach which we visited a few days ago in the rain.  Both of these towns were packed with people because of the holiday weekend and sunshine!  Both are easy to enjoy for at least a day.

The ferry back to Sydney Harbor happened at sunset and was spectacular for 30 minutes.  In the last 4 or so minutes of the ride, the huge orange full moon came up just beyond the Opera House. WOW!
I♥Sydney.
